Petra by boat 

Overview

Petra is an up and coming destination that's a must for tourists who want to do a trip with a difference. Also known as Rose City (due to the colour of the stone out of which it is carved), Petra is one of the most unusual places in the world and is one of Jordan’s most sought after destinations.
Petra has once been described as a city that was lost to the world for over a thousand years. By bus, you will leave early morning and drive approximately 2. 5 hours to Taba dock, there you will take the ferry boat to Aqaba. Leaving the port there will be a two and a half hour drive by bus to the city of Petra itself. Petra is entered on foot by a narrow gorge. Included in the visit is, the sights of the Great Treasury, The Roman Theatre and The Royal Tomb.
You will see the many temples and treasures of the citadel along with the rocks and gorges that are carved from sandstone. A walk through the colonnade of Roman Byzantine brings us to the city centre, and it’s in this area we usually break for lunch. Before leaving Petra, we try to get a final look at the breath taking views of this amazing city. Return to Aqaba by bus and then take the ferry back to Taba. Once in Taba you will have one final bus trip back to your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh.
